All the speculation surrounding Morgan Schneiderlin is upsetting to hear from a Man United fan’s point of view because I believed that he was a signing capable of filling the void inevitably going to be left when Michael Carrick goes.
I have always been a believer that players should be given a chance to prove themselves to a manager. Although I have backed most of the decisions made by Josè Mourinho this season, his handling of Schneiderlin amongst others I disagree with because he hasn’t given them enough of a chance to stake a claim for a spot in the side.
Mourinho has always been known to like a player who has a physical presence on the field take Rojo and Fellaini, two players ushered out of the door before United had even played a game this season. Both of which have gone on to play significant roles in the team, subsequent to injury.
I have been an admirer of Schneiderlin’s even in his Southampton days and strongly feel that he can develop his range of passing to become Carrick’s natural successor and conduct the midfield in a commanding way that Man United’s midfielders have been known for.
Unfortunately it is looking increasingly unlikely that he will stay but Mourinho has changed his stance on players, just look at Bastian Schweinsteiger.
